Get an alert when you’ve left your stove unattended.
A small sensor near your stove notices when it is hot and nobody is around. It sounds an alarm in the kitchen, tells your phone, and lets you check from anywhere.
StoveDetector, early unit
Available in white or black.
- The sensor, on a ball joint you aim at the stove
- The main unit with its alarm, in a small case that sticks to the wall or the hood
- The web app for every phone in the household. No subscription
How it works
- Mount it and plug it in.Anywhere it can see the cooktop, within reach of an outlet. The adapter and its cord are in the box.
- Join it to your Wi-Fi from your phone.A few minutes, no app store. The app checks that it is aimed well.
- Cook as you always do.While someone is moving about the kitchen it stays quiet. If the stove stays hot and nobody comes back, it counts down, then sounds its alarm and alerts your phone.
- Check or quiet it from anywhere.See whether the stove is on, how hot, and silence an alarm. Invite family to do the same.
What you need
- A secure spot with a clear view of every burner: near the front edge of the cabinet closest to the stove, on the backsplash, or under the hood's outer edge. Choose somewhere a fall would not cause harm. The app helps you aim it
- A power outlet within 5 feet (1.5 m) of the spot; the adapter is in the box
- 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi in the kitchen, for the phone side. The alarm at home works without it
- Gas or electric, it does not matter: it reads heat, and connects to nothing
Honestly, about early units
- Built by hand in small batches; the case is 3D printed
- It improves by software update, and your feedback decides what changes
- If it does not suit your kitchen, write to us and we will sort it out
What it is not
Not a smoke alarm, and no replacement for one. Keep yours.
It does not turn the stove off. It is a reminder and a way to check, not a guarantee against fire.
The alarm at home does not depend on this website. The device sounds on its own, whether the internet is up or not.
